Meet Founder JD Hopper

JD Hopper, Charlotte tutor and founder of Purpose Tutoring

JD Hopper is a premier Charlotte tutor specializing in math and college admissions. After completing 15 college-level classes in high school while maintaining a perfect 4.0 unweighted GPA, he graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in just two years before starting his own tutoring practice. This paved the way for him to found Purpose Tutoring, which now employs several tutors.

Additionally, he teaches public speaking at Charlotte Latin School, one of the city's top three private schools, served as president of Queen City Toastmasters, the largest public speaking organization in the Carolinas, from 2025 to 2026, and co-founded Mojo Group LLC to develop software that helps students improve their public speaking and communication skills.

His schedule remains extraordinarily busy due to his extensive client lineup, but he continues to take on new students as spots become available.
